Although the book is not about shoes, it speaks of the value of one’s self worth in an easy to understand way. No area is left untouched, while I deal with relationships, marriage, children, work, feelings of inadequacy, hurt feelings, the stress of staying in shape and looking good, ……… you can fill in the gap, the book is likely to deal with it.
Check interview below…
- Who, or what have been your greatest influences in your writing?
God, my life experiences, and the faith I inherited. There were times I didn’t understand why I was going through so many diverse personal problems and yet, they were the ones that helped me become who I am today (there’s still much to be changed in me, so I guess, much to go through)…It was as if God had taken me to every situation so I could one day help others. Other times, God simply inspires me whenever I’m counselling others. Other times, He gives me one word and that is enough to write and write.
- Who is this book aimed at?
Women of all ages. Most of us are always looking for ways to become better women and sometimes because of hardships, we feel that is a far away reality. That is why I’ve always focused my writing on helping women achieve their best, regardless of their age and circumstances.
- If someone picked up this book in ten years time, do you think it can still help them? Why?
Certainly. This book is based on the Bible, which is the oldest book that ever existed—this means that if it has been useful for thousands of years and in this day and age, why not hundreds of years from now? The principles of God never change, be it in the past, present, or future.
- Is there a charpter in the book that you particularly relate to?
There are two chapters in this book. The first ‘From Within’, which talks a lot about our inner self, and the second ‘From Single to Married Life’, which covers all areas of a woman’s life really. I relate to both chapters at the same time because they’re both talking about important issues in my life—my relationship with God and with others.
- How does this book differ from other self-help books?
Although this book is really a collection of many articles I’ve written in the past, it differs from many other books because it’s spiritual. Many books are written to be sold and therefore don’t help as much as those that are written for the sole purpose of helping. It’s a straight- to-the-point book and there will be times you’ll feel compelled to change. If you know my writing, you know I don’t hold my tongue in telling the truth, just as it is.
- Why do you think people will connect to this in such a personal way?
Because it’s a book focused on all areas we women go through in life: spiritual, love life, marriage, motherhood, and all-in-one womanhood. It’s hard to get everything in one book and yet, you can with this book, that is, if you’re spiritually minded.
